Although I never judge because judging invariably involves moralistic black&white words such as 'good' and 'bad'; I do critique from a purely artistic standpoint.
Maybe the marriage betweent the doctor and the 'shiksa' (wonderful word), serves some purpose to them both...enlightenment? Does it make a statement? Sends a message?
One of my favorite Mark Twain-isms is: "I do not care what You do. Just don't frighten the horses!"
The father, Uncle Mich, must Love his perfect son very much in that his perhaps future unhappiness will affect Him greatly. He is therefore free to comment.
I wish the marriage participants future happiness; if that does not come...then I wish them enlightenment.
