God's Message, Speak Truth to Power
Dear President Barack Obama,
As a young man I recall the transitions and issues of twelve presidents, the issues that confronted them and the strategies they used to overcome those problems with leadership. If I may, I offer the wisdom of those decades. You were confronted perhaps more than any president, save
Your friends are questioning the truth of your words; even the loyal opposition has raised the same issue, Gays in the military and your support or rejection of DOMA and DADT. You are in a quandary. As a young man, I suspect that you do have the audacity to realize your own problems. I offer you a simple solution; ask Dick Cheney and General Colin Powell to head up a commission to implement equality for Gays in the military. Thus, allowing anyone to state a simple fact that they are created by their creator the way that God planned it. Mr. Cheney’s daughter is Gay because her God planned it that way. You are half black and half white because your God planned it that way. God and Nature control sexual orientation and race. It is time that you speak truth to the wonderment of God’s creation; that we are all children of the same universe.
Respectfully,
G. Martin Freeman, Presiding Chaplain

I wish to speak to you feed about flags. However let me pre empt this by saying I am a minister with your church and am a Native American. Both of the flags you speak of and show were to some a symbol of hate. However bring slavery into the mix is not part of the issue as the first slaves were native american and not blacks, the secnd issue is a narrowing of views as t weather the slavery issue was a true issue in the war between the staes. I will concide that in the deep south it was a way of life. However many that killed and hung people over color were just as ratical as hitler. there is not difference. Just another form of racial stiring of the issues. I would love to debate this more. As you have narrowed the playing field to to seperate issues. Thank you Chief jim
@Chief Jim---You and I have probably the same take on the "war between the states" and to the root causes of it. Slavery, was but one of the straws to break the camel's back. The southern states felt, and perhaps others are feeling again, that the Federal Government was over-stepping its bounds and was violating the 10th Amendment. It came to a head when troops from the North marched on South Carolina, and all hell broke loose. We are indeed in tumultuous times, and those of us with a passion for leading our peoples need to remind them of the past so that we don't repeat it. The flags represented hope to the other side of the issues, and that is something we must always remember. Look to both sides of the issues before we pass a judgment.
Rev. Nat
Nat you speak with a good heart and a clear mind, it is very easy to get caught up in hate, and that my brother s a tool of the Devil not of the creator. If it were a matter of just hate let us look at all that has been done to us the first peopl, or as some call us native americans. We are still the only group of citizens in the US that have to carry a card to prove who we are, or religiuosfreedom is still hampered with and none of our lands have been returnrd. Yet we chose to follow a more peaceful path of educating the non native americans about us and hope that some day we will again be part of th human race with equal rights. but for today we ask only for the ceator to give us what we need. and he will answer that prayer. For what have we got o worry about another womded knee, or perhaps another trail of tears and let us not forget the childerns massace at yahoo falls. Time will be the judge as to wht we do and how it is accomplished, not mortal man.
