House Hate Crime Bill - 2009
There has been much discussion on the web lately in regards to the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009 (LLEHCPA). It is a bill that was introduced in the House last April, by Rep. John Conyers - D, Michigan and Mark Kirk - R, from Illinois.

Much concern has been expressed from conservative politicians, families and others about the impact that this bill will have upon religious organizations and churches; whose Pastors may be affected.

So are Gays really a threat to the institution of marriage? According to NOM and numerous other Christian groups you would think it so. The truth of the matter is that more and more heterosexual men and women are choosing not only to not to marry but also to have children out of wed-lock. The National Center for Health statistics shows that nearly 40% of all births last year were from unwed mothers. Surprisingly many of these women were single mothers by choice. These trends were so alarming that the Bush administration launched the Healthy Marriage Initiative- a program that spends $100 million a year to promote the benefits and teach the secrets of happy marriages.
